Properties: Our Spearmint Essential Oil is a gentle option from the mint family. Does much the same things as peppermint, although does not have the high levels of menthol in it that peppermint does (you never use peppermint on children under the age of 3 years old). Because of this spearmint is safer for young children and the elderly, and yet every bit as effective as peppermint. Spearmint is a local analgesic, antiseptic, antispasmotic, and decongestant. It is useful in all respiratory conditions. It has unique emotional qualities and helps support and calm the inner child. Useful with insomnia, headaches, and all kinds of emotional issues.
